What are relics?
Relics can either be a fragment of a body or physical possession of a canonized saint. Relics are divided into three classifications:
First Class Relic: body part of a saint (bone, blood, or flesh)
Second Class Relic: posessions that a saint owned
Third Class Relic: objects that have been touched to a first or second class relic or the saint has touched himself/herself
Relics are a way for us to remember the life of the saints and our call to holiness and eternal life in heaven.
